Yarnwren grew out of a love for yarn, hooks, and the quiet satisfaction of finishing a project by hand. Over time, that love has turned into a resource that thousands of makers use to learn new stitches, find their next amigurumi project, or plan a seasonal gift. If you make or sell something crochet-related — or you help other brands tell their story — we would love to hear from you. This page explains what collaborations look like here, what we expect from every partnership, and how to send us a proposal that gets read.

Why work with Yarnwren

We are a niche site, and we like it that way. Our readers come to us specifically for crochet, amigurumi, patterns, stitch tutorials, DIY projects, home décor, wearables, and seasonal makes. That focus means the audience is genuinely interested in yarn-adjacent products and ideas, not a general crowd scrolling past. A collaboration here reaches people who already crochet, want to start, or are shopping for gifts for someone who does. You can learn more about who we are and how the site started on our About Us page.

Collaborations we welcome

We are open to a range of partnerships as long as they fit naturally into our content and genuinely serve our readers. Examples include:

  • Yarn, hook, and notion brands looking for honest reviews, comparisons, or featured mentions in pattern posts
  • Amigurumi kit or craft box companies interested in unboxings, tutorials, or seasonal roundups
  • Independent pattern designers who want a guest feature, interview, or pattern spotlight
  • Home décor or wearable brands with crochet-adjacent products (baskets, hangers, display stands, blocking mats, garment tags)
  • Craft fairs, yarn festivals, and maker communities seeking coverage or promotion
  • Sponsored posts or product placements that are clearly relevant to crochet, DIY, or seasonal crafting
  • Affiliate-style partnerships where we link to your shop or pattern store within relevant, existing content
  • Content creators and fellow bloggers interested in link exchanges, co-authored tutorials, or cross-promotion

We are generally not a fit for products unrelated to fiber crafts, home making, or seasonal DIY, and we do not accept collaborations that ask us to publish misleading claims, fake reviews, or content that contradicts the standards outlined in our Editorial Policy.

Content standards we hold to

Every collaboration, sponsored piece, or brand mention published on Yarnwren follows the same editorial bar as our regular content. That means:

  • Instructions and pattern claims are tested or reviewed for accuracy before publishing
  • Product mentions reflect our actual opinion, not a script written by the brand
  • We reserve final editorial say on tone, structure, and wording, even in sponsored content
  • Any safety-relevant advice (such as choosing appropriate yarn for children's toys, or safe stuffing materials for amigurumi) is written with care and never sacrificed for a sponsor's preference

We take transparency seriously. Any paid placement, gifted product, or affiliate relationship is disclosed clearly to readers, in line with our Disclosure page and our separate Affiliate Disclaimer. If a post includes sponsored content, it will say so plainly near the top, not buried in fine print. We also ask collaborators to respect the boundaries described in our Terms of Use and, where relevant, our Disclaimer regarding project outcomes and material safety.

What we typically ask from partners

To keep things smooth and fair for both sides, we usually ask partners to:

  • Provide accurate product information, ingredient or material lists (for yarns, stuffing, or dyes), and any relevant care instructions
  • Allow us creative freedom over how the content is written and photographed, within reasonable brand guidelines
  • Confirm rights to any images supplied, since we credit sources carefully as outlined on our Image Credits page
  • Agree to disclosure requirements upfront, rather than after a post is drafted

If your proposal involves user-generated content, contests, or reader submissions, please also review our Community Guidelines, since any collaborative campaign involving our readers needs to align with how we already moderate comments and submissions.

How to send a proposal

The best pitches are short, specific, and easy to say yes to. When you reach out, please include:

  • Your name, brand or company, and a link to your website or shop
  • A brief description of the product, pattern, or campaign you have in mind
  • Why you think it fits Yarnwren's audience of crocheters and makers
  • Any timeline, budget, or deliverables you already have in mind

Send your proposal to [email protected] with a clear subject line, something like „Collaboration Proposal — [Your Brand]“. We read every email personally and try to respond within a reasonable window, though during busy seasonal periods (hello, holiday gift guides) replies may take a little longer. If you are unsure whether your idea fits, reach out anyway through our general Contact page — we are happy to talk it through before anyone commits to anything.

A note on fit over reach

We would rather turn down a big-name brand that does not fit than publish something that feels out of place to our readers. Yarnwren works because people trust what they find here, and we intend to keep it that way. If your product, pattern, or idea genuinely belongs in the world of crochet and handmade craft, we are glad to explore how we might work together.
